Mrs Helen Samatebele

Helen Samatebele possesses 35 years of management experience in, among other disciplines, corporate governance, strategic planning and risk management, business development, policy formulation, and financial management across government, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector. Hellen also has vast board experience, having served on many boards such as the Stanbic Bank Zambia Board for several years, the Tobacco Board of Zambia, Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia, Maamba Collieries, and the Civil Society for Poverty Reduction Board.

She holds a diploma in nutrition from the Natural Resources Development College in Zambia and several certificates in various disciplines such as management of enterprise development, corporate governance, and, human resource management. She is also a member of the Institute of Directors in Zambia.

Mr Patrick Herrmann

Patrick Herrmann is Senior Investment Officer at AfricInvest, focusing on equity investments in the financial sector across Africa.

Previously he worked in the Leveraged Finance & Financial Sponsors team within the Investment Banking department of Credit Suisse in London, where he was involved in a number of large and mid-cap leverage buyout financings across various sectors.

Patrick holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, from where he also graduated with a Bachelor in International Affairs.

Mr Todd Mason

Todd Mason is Equity Investment Manager at Triple Jump, where he oversees a portfolio of private equity investments in micro and small enterprise (MSME) financial institutions. Todd’s career in MSME finance spans more than 15 years. His previous positions at Triple Jump include Regional Manager for Debt Investments for each of the South America, Asia Pacific and Africa/Middle East Regions. He has also held the role of Credit Risk and Restructuring Manager, overseeing credit risk and debt restructuring for Triple Jump’s global MSME debt investment portfolio.

Todd holds a MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, a Master in European Business and Business Law from Lund University, Sweden, and a BA in Business Administration from George Fox University, USA.

Mr. Chrispin Daka

Chrispin Daka is a Chartered Accountant and Entrepreneur with over 22 years of professional experience in Public Practice and Industry. He is a Fellow of ZICA and a holder of a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the Copperbelt University Business School. He is a Founding and Senior Partner of Client Focus Solutions Chartered Accountants. He is an accredited Insolvency Practitioner in Zambia.

In his career, he has worked with BDO Zambia, PWC Zambia, Engen Petroleum Zambia, and BSi Steel at senior positions. One of his core competencies is Governance and Risk Control support. He serves on a number of Public and Private Audit and Risk committees.

Mrs. Janice Matwi

Janice Matwi is an accomplished Executive and Non-Executive Director (NED) with a distinguished career in driving organisational growth through strategic leadership and digital transformation. Specialising in enabling high-performing teams to excel, Janice has a proven ability to foster collaboration, innovation, and operational efficiency. Her expertise lies in guiding businesses through transformative change, leveraging technology to enhance productivity, and creating sustainable value. As a board advisor, she provides strategic oversight on digital transformation initiatives, helping organizations adapt to technological advancements and thrive in competitive markets.

With extensive experience across financial technology, telecommunications and consumer goods sectors, Janice has held key leadership roles that underscore her ability to deliver impactful results. She holds an MBA from Essex Business School, a Diploma in Project Management with Cambridge and holds Marketing qualifications with Edinburgh Business School and Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).  Known for her thought leadership, she frequently shares insights on topics such as digital innovation, SME growth and scaling up, team performance, inclusion and diversity and sustainable business practices.

Mr. Iwan Walraven

As Strategic Advisor to the Vice-President, Investments and Management Contracts for the last 3 years, Iwan Walraven is involved in strategic decision-making regarding the Entrepreneur Financial Centres (EFCs) that Development International Desjardins (DID) has set up in Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda, Tunisia and Panama.

Iwan also worked as an Independent Consultant Focusing on contracts in the financial services industry as financial consultant and business development specialist. His focus further was on Micro and SME Finance, both from a business plan and operations perspective. Iwan also worked with Senior Credit Analyst at the Corporate Finance department for 2 years.

Prior to that, he worked with Rabobank Netherlands for 4 years analyzing E- and M-Business opportunities for Rabobank Netherlands and several its subsidiaries. Iwan holds a Masters of Electronic Commerce from Dalhousie University and a BSc Technical Business Studies from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.
